Quest Software and IPv6

While the consensus feeling among industry and government analysts is an expectation of an extended period of coexistence between IPv4 and IPv6 traffic, Quest is working to support the U.S. government’s migration towards IPv6.

Most of our products delegate networking to lower levels of the stack and are IP addressing scheme agnostic. We expect these products to work on an IPv6 network without modification. Nevertheless, we will test them to confirm our expectations, and we have set up an IPv6 test environment in which our product teams can test their products.  To support IPv6, a small number of Quest's products must revise IP address handling to accommodate the new 128-bit addresses. This effort has been started, with the market defining the priority of this work vis-à-vis other enhancement initiatives.

Please note that these plans represent our intentions as of July 2008, and our development plans and priorities are subject to change, due to competitive factors, availability of resources and other matters common to all independent software vendors.
