Taming The Desktop

IT departments no longer have the luxury of simply managing a set of desktop PCs running the same version of Windows. Instead, they must manage and secure a wide range of devices and operating systems, including PCs and laptops running various versions of Windows or Linux, Android tablets, and a variety of smart phones.

This paper explores this management challenge and offers a solution: using desktop virtualisation to balance IT control with user flexibility by moving control of the organisation desktop back to the data centre.
